Account & Data Deletion

1. Who this page applies to

This page explains how to delete your account and personal data for Read4G (also distributed as "Read4G: German Reading & More"), published by Lucrecia Karina Abasto. It applies to the Read4G Android app, iOS app, and the website at read4g.com, which all share the same account.

2. Delete your account in the app (fastest)

You can delete your account and all associated data yourself, immediately and permanently:

1. Open the Read4G app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Tap Delete account and confirm.

Deletion takes effect immediately. This action cannot be undone.

Note on subscriptions: deleting your account does not cancel an active Read4G PRO subscription. Please cancel it separately in the Google Play subscription settings or in your Apple App Store subscription settings, otherwise the store will continue to bill you.

3. Request deletion without the app

If you no longer have the app installed, or you want only some of your data deleted while keeping your account, submit the form below or email us at privacy[at]read4g.com from the email address linked to your account. We process deletion requests within 30 days, and usually much faster.

To protect your data, we only act on requests we can verify. If the request does not come from the email address linked to the account, we will reply with a verification step before deleting anything.

4. What is deleted

When your account is deleted (in-app or on request), we permanently remove:

• Your login credentials and account record (email address, authentication identifiers)
• Profile information and preferences (language level, goals, settings)
• All learning data: reading history and answers, writing submissions and evaluations, grammar exercise results, flashcards and review progress, vocabulary lists
• Gamification data: points, streaks, weekly goals, activity history
• Survey and feedback responses linked to your account

5. What is kept, and for how long

Some data is kept after account deletion, only where the law requires it or where it is not linked to your identity:

• Purchase and billing records related to paid subscriptions are retained as required by statutory commercial and tax retention obligations (in Germany, up to 10 years). Payment itself is processed by Google Play or the Apple App Store, which retain their own transaction records under their own policies.
• Server log files (IP address, time of access) are retained for a short period for security purposes and then deleted automatically; they are not linked to your account.
• Correspondence about your deletion request is kept while the request is being processed and to document that it was fulfilled.
• Anonymous analytics events are not linked to your account and therefore contain no data to delete.
